Three Tips to Increase Your Chance of Success in Network Marketing

Each year when I check the stats from the Direct Sales Association, I continue to be happily surprised when I see the number of network marketing distributors has gone up. As of this writing there are over 15 million people representing the many direct sales companies that are out there. Sales in 2006 were over 32 billion dollars. That’s a lot of products being sold by a lot of people.

So how can you increase your chances of finding success in this continually growing industry?

1. Create a plan. I know you’ve heard it before. A plan is comparable to a road map. A road map shows you how to get from point A to point B. There are many ways to get there. You get to choose which highway you take, which roads you travel, but the map is there to guide you. A business plan shows you all the things you need to do to achieve whatever your own goal is.

If your goal is to make one sale a month, that’s fine, but where will that one sale come from? How will you find that one sale? If your goal is to earn $100 per month, that’s fine, but what does it look like? What do you need to do to earn that? How much do you need to sell to earn that? Will you have to recruit to get there?

How will you market? What will your days look like? Will there be a financial investment you’ll need to make? The more detail your plan has, the less likely you are to be surprised. I can not tell you how many times I’ve had folks say “I really thought I’d be further along by now.” When I ask what they’ve done to grow their business, they don’t always have an answer. Create a plan!!

2. Take advantage of all supplies and tools offered by your company. I am making this statement believing you are associated with a legitimate direct sales company. This means sales supplies and tools should be very reasonably priced and very readily available. If your company offers a website, buy one. If you plan to market online, you want a website with the products, a shopping cart, catalogs etc. If your company offers flyers and postcards, buy some. They should look professional and have the company logo on them etc. Use what’s worked and been developed by a marketing team. If there are conference calls, listen in. Those that lead the calls have walked the walk. Learn from their experiences.

3. Make a commitment. Do you think the owners of McDonalds said “well I’ll give it 30 days and see what happens?” Do you think the owners of Target said “let’s place one ad and if we don’t have enough sales, we’ll quit?” Make a commitment to really build a business. My suggestion is to make a minimum one year commitment.

In addition, make a commitment to learn a little bit each day. Read an article. Read a chapter in a book. Get on a conference call. Do some research on the industry. Use one of your products and write your own testimonial about it. Read something about marketing and write a new ad. Make a commitment to learn every single day. If you invest just 15 minutes per day Monday through Friday, in a month’s time you will have spent 5 hours learning about your business, your company and your products. With more information, you have more to share with others and are much better prepared to answer questions.

Once you’ve made the decision to join the ranks of the millions of others in direct sales, it’s time to make a plan, make a commitment and take advantage of everything that is available to you.

Every month thousands of people are interested in the direct sales companies that are being flocked to online. Affiliate Marketing Secrets – How to Set Up an Affiliate Program As a Marketer Or As an Owner

How do you set up such a program?

  • Find a good product for which you would like to be an affiliate
  • Have the owner of the product issue you a unique affiliate link.

You can do this traffic-driving in two ways: First you can use your affiliate link and send the potential customer directly to the owner’s sales page. (Some article directories will not let you do this, but some will.) Another way to direct link is to buy your own domain name. In this option, you as an owner will have to find a network on which to list your product. (You could do it without a network, but that is even more advanced.) The network will help you keep up with the traffic affiliates bring your way, and it will help you to pay your affiliates their commissions.
